Dozens of attendees gathered at St. Kieran's Catholic Church on May 16th for an enlightening seminar on adoption and foster care hosted by the St. Kieran's Respect Life Office. The event aimed to educate and inspire individuals interested in becoming foster care or adoptive parents while shedding light on the remarkable work done by Catholic Charities. The seminar talk was led by CCSEM Foster Care Supervisors Michele Karrick and Russ Hinson, who provided invaluable insights into the adoption and foster care programs offered by Catholic Charities. Their expertise and experience illuminated the intricate process of becoming a foster care or adoptive parent, offering a comprehensive overview resonating with the audience. CCSEM's Child Welfare, Adoption, and Foster Care Supervisor Kristie Hardin and Program Manager Jen Anderson were also present during the event, providing additional support and answering questions from the attendees. Their dedication and commitment to the cause were evident as they shared their knowledge and helped prospective parents navigate the complexities of the adoption and foster care journey. The seminar was a collaborative effort that wouldn't have been possible without the hard work and dedication of Suzie Souva, a member of the Respect Life office and Right to Life Macomb, and Lauren MacIntyre, Christian Service Coordinator at St. Kieran's, who spearheaded the organization of the event.
