Archbishop Vigneron has asked for a special collection to be taken annually in all parishes to help support the work of Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan (CCSEM).
On the weekend of November 21 and 22, we have another opportunity to make an enormous difference by helping our neighbors in the Archdiocese of Detroit overcome some of life’s most difficult problems.
Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan walk with over 20,000 people each year by taking on the effects of poverty and helping those in crisis move toward a better life.
⇒ Serves thousands of individuals across all six counties of the AOD through their behavioral health and substance abuse counseling services.
⇒Serves hundreds at the All Saints Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry in Detroit.
⇒ Supports hundreds of expectant mothers by providing health care support, counseling, food, and clothing assistance through Project Hope.
⇒ Provides temporary homes for children and teens in the foster care system by offering training, resources, and support to foster families.
⇒ Provides a supervised independent living program to help those teens aging out of the foster care system transition to life on their own.
⇒ Guides numerous families through the adoption process.
⇒ Partners with over 4,000 seniors through their senior volunteer services.
⇒ Provides education and support to over 2000 individuals from the Hispanic community to become self-sufficient and successful, emphasizing building individual and family strengths.
Many people in our diocese continue to face uncertainty. Catholic Charities needs your help – our help – to continue to provide compassionate, quality, professional services, and support to those in need, all in the name of Jesus Christ Our Lord.
