Bruce McGhee earned his Bachelor of Psychology Degree from Bellarmine University in 1998, and his Master of Science in Social Work Degree from the University of Louisville in 2000. He is a Licensed Master Social Worker in the State of Michigan to engage in clinical practice. He also received his Certified Advance Alcohol and Drug Counselor Credential from Michigan Certification Board for Addictions Professionals in 2011. Since 2015, Bruce has served as a clinical therapist, clinical supervisor, and operations manager at the Lapeer office of Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan. Of his areas of expertise and treatment philosophy Bruce states: “I am trained as a Narrative Therapist in the humanist traditions of psychotherapy. I have worked with adults, children, and families in schools, homes, correctional facilities, hospitals, shelters and in the outpatient setting. I have 20 years of experience in the treatment of mental health and substance abuse issues. Although I have a breadth of experience and training, I believe that the person seeking help is the expert in what they need to recover, and their expressed needs guide the treatment.” His work history includes outpatient treatment including mental health and substance abuse issues in a variety of settings including outpatient, residential, homeless, corrections, and school programs.
