Position Type: Part-Time

Hours/Pay

Rate of Pay: 15.00 - 16.00 per hour

Availability: This is a part-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are within the normal business hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Days/Hours Worked: Flexible schedule - approximately 20 hours per week.

Experience

Education Requirements: High school diploma or GED required

Experience Requirements: Minimum of two years of recovery time

Description

Recovery Advocacy Warriors (RAW) in Monroe, Michigan is seeking a Peer Recovery Coach to fulfill its mission to assist people in various stages of recovery by connecting them to services, removing barriers so people can be successful in starting the recovery process, educate the public, and reduce stigma associated with addiction and recovery.
The successful candidate will:

Be passionate about recovery and excited to share information with others
Advocate for those in recovery
Have good people skills
Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum of two years of recovery time
Knowledge of substance use recovery
Be eligible for the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Peer Recovery Coach Certification
Trained in Naloxone (Narcan) administration
Have good verbal and written skills
Good computer skills (Microsoft Office)

Essential duties and responsiblities include:
Community Outreach to elevate public awareness of recovery and elicit support for those in recovery
Assist Program Manager with organizing community outreach events and education
Assist with transportation as needed
Provides follow-up calls, and check-in calls for individuals in recovery as a form of additional support

Complete 40 hours of required CCAR Recovery Coach training within 90 days of hire date
