Senior Companion Program

Volunteers in the Senior Companion Program help adults remain independent by offering support and assistance to those who are lonely, isolated, ill or disabled. In addition to having the opportunity to remain active and healthy, volunteers receive a small, non-taxable stipend, mileage reimbursement, meal assistance, and supplemental accident and liability insurance coverage.

The program is offered in Oakland and Macomb counties. Participants must be age 55 or older, meet income requirements, be able to serve 20 hours a week and follow program guidelines.

About 80 volunteers are now involved and more are needed!
