Food, Fun and Friends! St. Clair County Best Dessert Contest

The fun begins with strolling dinner appetizers, wine grab, raffles, live auction, cash bar, live entertainment and much more! Come help us pick the people’s favorite dessert from one of our many fine chefs in St. Clair County. Proceeds will be directed to Catholic Charities’ Family Counseling programs serving families in St. Clair County. Our goal is to raise $20,000 and we are looking for your help to reach this goal.

All are welcome to St. Joan of Arc Parish in St. Clair Shores for the annual Mass for persons with special needs, their caregivers, and loved ones on Sunday, September 25 at 12:00 pm. Bishop Michael Byrnes will be the main celebrant, the annual Special Needs Ministries Recognition Awards will be presented, and a special blessing provided. Refreshments follow.

Mercy in Action Service Day

In this Year of Mercy, Pope Francis encourages all to serve people who need help. Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan (CCSEM) is collaborating with parishes, schools, and others to coordinate a regional Day of Service on October 1 to help those in need through a multitude of local service projects like helping those in need with chores and tidying up around the house, stocking food pantries, cleaning up neighborhood parks, and other efforts.

Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan (CCSEM) can help you and your future spouse welcome Christ into your union, improve your communication skills, and position your relationship to grow stronger over time!

Adhering to Church teachings and let by Dr. Janusz Wrobel, a skilled CCSEM therapist, Encore remarriage workshops focus on replacing communication styles from the previous relationship with new ones bases on trust and friendship. Couples bringing children into their new union will benefit from additional content on addressing issues that can arise in a blended family and talking with children about pending marriage.

Project Hope is holding a Diaper Drive to stock its shelves with a three-month supply of diapers, formula, and baby food for our clients -- low-income pregnant women and families with children less than one year.
