Stephanie K. Evans obtained her bachelor’s degree in Family Life Education from Spring Arbor University (2002), and her Master of Social Work degree from Wayne State University (2005). She has been a clinical therapist specializing in children and youth services with Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan since January of 2013. Previously, she was employed by Catholic Social Services of St. Clair County (CSSSC) from May 2006 until the 2013 merger of CSSSC with CCSEM. Her areas of expertise include: trauma and loss, anxiety, adoption, and play therapy for children and adolescents. She has facilitated Michigan Prisoner Re-Entry Initiative (MPRI) groups and the Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP) group. Her work history includes experience as a mental health and substance abuse therapist with a diverse population at the Center for Human Resources and experience as an adoption worker for CSSSC. Evans is working toward certification as a registered play therapist through the Association for Play Therapy.
