Department: Retired and Senior Volunteer Program Coordinator

Rate of Pay:
Days/Hours Worked: Monday - Friday approximately 24-28 hrs. per week
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Human Services related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
Experience Requirements: Two years’ experience in a senior service and/or volunteer management preferred Passion for work with older adult population required; knowledge of community resources/contacts for older adults preferred
Special Requirements: Position requires a highly organized, assertive manner with strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills

Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan (CCSEM) has been serving the communities in St. Clair, Lapeer, Monroe, Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties since the late 1940s. CCSEM is a non-profit organization that provides comprehensive social services that empower individuals and families through skill development and advocacy to manage their environment in order to achieve a healthy quality of life. All agency services reflect a profound concern for human life, with a strong commitment to family life. Each year the agency services approximately 20,000 persons of all faiths, races and cultures throughout southeast with special emphasis on low income and poor families.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Two years’ experience in a senior services or volunteer management preferred. We are seeking an individual to work as a Program Coordinator in our Retired and Senior Volunteer Program in Macomb County. This individual must have a passion for working with older adults who desire to volunteer in their local communities. The Program Coordinator will work with leadership to recruit active seniors to volunteer in a variety of programs throughout the area. The best candidate will be a “people person” who appreciates the wisdom, life experience and generosity of senior citizens and will match them up to local programs such as food pantries, youth mentor programs and community centers to give of their time and talent in the communities in which they live. The candidate must be highly organized, competent with technology and be willing to go out into the community to promote this program in order to recruit volunteers and volunteer stations. The best candidate will be someone who is driven to serve the community.
Work Environment, Physical Demands & Travel:
This job operates in a professional office environment and includes approximately 20% travel within Macomb County.

Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
