Availability: This is a full-time exempt salaried position averaging 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Days/Hours Worked: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a human services field; Social Work, Education or related field

Experience Requirements: Two years of supervisory experience

Special Requirements: Bilingual (Spanish/English) speakers preferred


This position provides direction and oversight for our popular La Casa Amiga Community Programs in Pontiac. The program director is responsible for resource development, strategic planning, program development, fiscal management, promotional activities, staff supervision, and management in addition to coordination with agency and community resources. These duties include oversight of documentation of compliance with licensing and meeting the conditions established by funders regarding staffing, program services, ongoing utilization, and any other compliance issue required of the program and its personnel. Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Bachelor’s degree in a human services field; Social Work, Education, or related field
• Two years of supervisory experience preferred
• Knowledge and experience with immigration issues preferred
Grant writing experience
• Position requires excellent leadership and interpersonal skills and good moral character
• Position requires a highly organized, assertive manner with good interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written skills
• Successful completion of initial and on-going employment screens, including, but not limited to criminal background, sex offender, drug screen, OIG, valid Michigan driver’s license, abuse and neglect and vehicle record check as required
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Actively participate in the strategic planning process and ongoing discussions as a member of the CCSEM leadership team
• Carry out responsibilities on personnel matters from hiring and evaluation through training and disciplinary issues up to and including termination in collaboration with human resources
• Attend and facilitate agency and department meetings, training as required; maintaining minutes as assigned
• Represent CCSEM at community events and conduct oneself in an ethical, mature, and professional manner with honesty and integrity, welcoming clients, coworkers, and other stakeholders with dignity and respect
• As a member of the Leadership team, role model professional behavior and guide staff’s professional development; demonstrate servant leader principles
• Adhere to the Mission, Values and Vision of CCSEM and the values and teachings of the Catholic Church
· Provide documentation, support, etc. for agency and program audits, licensing reviews, etc. as appropriate
ensure continuous compliance to include attendance to leadership, organizational planning, health and safety, and human resources concerns
· First contact when all staff have coverage issues for all programs; monitor space utilization and staffing to maximize service delivery and assure coverage of client needs; and, recommend staffing changes based on need
· Assess marketing needs for all site programming and coordinate activities with agency marketing and advancement
· Assures program compliance with all federal and state rules regarding the provision of substance abuse services and the requirements of accrediting bodies and funders;
· Assesses and evaluates staff; develops methods to use and enhance strengths and to isolate and minimize weaknesses; assure initial and ongoing training is provided
· Oversee process to maintain and report client statistics; monitors agency/department outcomes and complete reports, including annual report upon request
· Assist in grant writing, reporting and implementation as assigned
· Provide operational support, including items as contract negotiations, vendor interfaces, facilities management, etc.
· Oversee facility and surroundings present a safe and professional environment for both staff and clients.
· Ensure site provides services consistent with the values and teachings of the Catholic Church
· Assist Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer with additional projects and duties as assigned
· Identify, develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with community organizations to gain support and promote linkages with other agencies
· In cooperation with marketing and advancement, plan and implement promotional activities to market program services and increase community awareness
· Identify, develop and maintain funding sources; prepare grant applications and contracts for new and continuing funding sources to maintain sound financial base for programs
· Prepare annual and quarterly reports as required by funding sources to evaluate progress, identify problems and maintain regular communication with funders
· Prepare and conduct presentations in a variety of external settings to promote programs
· Prepare annual program budgets; in coordination with Finance Department, monitor revenue and expenses to maintain fiscal control
· Select, train supervise and evaluate program staff to ensure effective program operation, as assigned
· Represent programs in the community through presentations, affiliations and participation in meetings and coreferences to increase viability of programs, expand base knowledge and help secure funding
· Establish long range goals and objectives for programs to create vision and provide leadership
· Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with the Hispanic community, which include but is not limited to churches, agencies, neighborhoods and organizations
· Stay aware and abreast of issues that may impact the Hispanic or newcomer community
· Additional duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer
Work Environment, Physical Demands & Travel:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, at times a need may arise to lift file boxes and support office maintenance functions which may include move office furniture, bend or stand on a stool and lift a max of 20 pounds.
